Hey friends!
Despite my love of art, I have never actually had the chance to take a drawing class. My last year at my college, they were able to add in an art minor! Unfortunately, I didn’t have the ability to add the minor, but I decided to take advantage of the classes that were available! I took a Drawing 1 class in my senior year at college and I thought I would share with you all the results of the class!
Hope you enjoy!
Sincerely,
Kirsten
This was a study in textures. We were asked to have two natural textures and two man-made textures.
This was an assignment in drawing textures. There were four items on the table, and this is what I drew!
For this assignment, we drew thumbnail drawings of poster ideas for the zombie run that my psychology department at my school hosts. (15 October 2016)
In this exercise, we were asked to take a famous work of art and change some things about it, playing with the different elements of art like leading lines, unity, chiaroscuro, and other fancy terms. We had a lot of freedom with this assignment, and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish it, but I got enough done that the teacher was able to see where I was going with it and gave me credit. Point is, this was my own version of Picasso’s Guitarist painting. (13 October 2016)
To further our understanding of shadows, we did a drawing of a bunch of squashes and peppers. (10 October 2016)
This was an exercise in seeing absolute value of something. I drew a bridge over a river that is behind my college. (25 September 2016)
Our first exercise was in understanding shapes and shadows. (19 September 2016)
This was a drawing where I was not allowed to lift my pencil from the paper and it was supposed to be done fairly quickly.
This was my favorite project. We took a layout and were given instructions to change a couple aspects of it. It took a while for me to do this project, but I’m pretty happy with the result!
